In this episode, Brett, Brian, and Jason continue their examination of the Seventh Petition of the Lord’s prayer by doing a Bible study on Genesis 3:15-24.  When we pray “deliver us from evil” in the Lord’s Prayer, the answer to that prayer is Christ on the cross.  The saints for all time, whether OT, NT, or now, have always been looking to the cross.  Ever since Genesis 3, we have been on a march back to the Garden of Eden.

  1. Hmmm. Not so sure of the adamancy with which Pr. Gudim forces us away from the sacrifice by which Adam and Eve were clothed. There is no skin (covering) without the shedding of blood whether the text actually says “blood” or not.

    1. This was more or less exactly my point. I acknowledge that the animals were sacrificed. This, however, is not the focus of the text as the sacrifice is only casually mentioned and blood is excluded altogether (something that is stressed continually and with great detail when the sacrificial aspect is in focus for much of the rest of the OT).
